A member of the public called 999 shortly before 7 pm after spotting the kayakers capsize and struggle to get back onto their canoe. The firefighters found three kayakers shocked but uninjured to the south of La Rocque.
Station manager Richard Liron said that the situation could have been ‘far more severe’ if the service had not received an early call.
