The minister was speaking in the States this week after being asked questions by the Constable of St John, Phil Rondel, who was not impressed with this response.

Mr Rondel told the JEP that Islanders whose homes were still not connected to mains drains were getting a very unfair deal.

Senator Ozouf said that the Transport Minister would continue to develop a strategy to address drainage issues over the next 20 years, but he added: ‘We need to manage expectations, because it is not realistic to believe that the whole Island will be connected to the public sewer.’
