As six feet of snow built up outside his home on Monday night, expectant father Mike Jones phoned the States Police for help after his wife Lisette went into labour. By 9 pm their lane, Rue de Château Clarival in St Saviour, was completely blocked by snow.
Individual stories of heroism and escape continue to emerge as the thaw continues, with one young driver describing the moment a tree fell on her car and the story of a team of paramedics and volunteers who fought their way through the snow to reach a woman needing emergency treatment.
