The new buses, featuring a design voted for by the public, are setting off from Liberation Station just days after a one-day strike because drivers were unhappy about their new contracts.

But management say that overtime has never been part of the terms and conditions of the drivers’ contracts and that the majority of the drivers have transferred to the new company.

All the new vehicles are wheelchair and pushchair accessible and school bus routes will run as normal when term starts again tomorrow.
