Speaking after approval was given to create 44 houses and 18 flats on the former Jersey Pottery site, Dan Murphy said he wanted a dedicated first-time buyer development in the area.

He said that the plans, which were given the go-ahead by Environment Minister Rob Duhamel this week, did not seem to feature any first-time buyer homes.

‘I’d love to have one big development of first time buyer homes in Grouville – that’s what’s needed,’ he said. ‘I’ve been talking to one developer and I’m hoping we can achieve that.’
