Firefighters were called out on 24 July after smoke and flames were seen coming out of the detached property at Le Hocq, which had been empty for a number of years.

At the height of the operation, 14 firefighters battled to bring the blaze under control as the property’s new owners, who had planned to start renovating the house, looked on.

The blaze destroyed the roof and left much of the rest of the building structurally unsafe. Following an investigation, the Fire and Rescue Service has concluded that the fire was started in an arson attack.
