Armando Fernandes Pestana (18) had been fishing with friends when he washed by waves into the sea.
Although the Coastguard, Fire and Rescue Service, the police and Channel Islands Air Search plane joined a full-scale search for Mr Pestana on Thursday evening and yesterday, that search has been called off.
Mr Pestana’s family in Madeira and Jersey have been informed.
