David Gauke MP is pushing for a change in the law that would mean that the names of celebrities and businessmen using aggressive tax avoidance schemes should be disclosed to the taxman.

Firms would be forced to reveal the names of those using the schemes, rather than rely on the companies notifying the taxman of how the schemes work.

The rule changes could be included in a forthcoming bill, and the changes could take effect by the end of the year.
