Entitled ‘The Big Idea: Could Digital Jersey be the catalyst for a new pillar to our economy?’, the event, once again sponsored by law firm Carey Olsen, will examine how developing a digital technology sector could help Jersey to become a recognised centre for such services, enable businesses to compete more effectively on the international stage and provide employment.
As well as looking at how existing businesses could be transformed by embracing technological advancements, such as the super-fast broadband of the Gigabit Jersey project, the debate will explore the problem of attracting innovative, entrepreneurial and specialist IT businesses and will consider whether Jersey could establish a reputation as a hub for virtual expertise.
