A trio of small business owners have united to give themselves a chance to crack commerce in town with a temporary ‘pop-up’ shop project.

St Helier’s town centre manager, Richard MacKenzie, said the idea of getting entrepreneurs to share shop space and split rental costs could give a much-needed boost to town and breathe new life into the town.

He explained: ‘The pop-up shop idea will try and utilise empty shops to animate the area and hopefully give people an idea about whether they could have a shop.

‘It will create vibrancy in the area. Business owners talk about it all the time, but it all depends on whether the landlord is willing to release the shop space.’
