The jobs are likely to be lost at Flying Brands after the company sold its Gardening Direct business for £2.9 million.
The company would only say that it has ‘started a consultation period’ with affected employees but was not in a position to comment further at this stage.
Local firm Jersey Choice Ltd, another internet and mail order firm which trades under the name Jersey Plants Direct, finalised the deal to buy Gardening Direct on Friday.
