New details about the final moments of Peter George Scurr (69) were also revealed during the short hearing as it emerged that Mr Scurr called to his wife for help after falling from the path above the Railway Walk, only to slip further and plunge up to 50 feet onto a concrete roof.
His 65-year-old wife Lorraine also fell after trying to help her husband when he fell just before 5 pm on 11 June and was seriously injured. Mrs Scurr remains in a serious but stable condition in Southampton Hospital.
