It would appear that the regulator and the States-owned telecoms company have been at loggerheads over the approach JT has adopted so far.

In correspondence leaked to the JEP, the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority said that JT had not demonstrated proposed wholesale prices to be charged to competitors were ‘cost justified’.

In a letter to JT dated 2 March, executive director John Curran wrote: ‘The JCRA has no basis for accepting the charges proposed and no ability to reassure other telecom companies and the States that it is confident JT’s wholesale prices will guarantee fair and equitable access to the network,’ says the letter.
