Fundraising had reached that figure by 3.30 pm yesterday as swimmers took to the lanes at Les Quennevais for the third consecutive day.
This year’s Swimarathon, which is organised by the Lions Club of Jersey, runs until Sunday. It is being held in tribute to the late Hannah Johnson, the 2008 Young Ambassador for the Lions Club of Jersey, and will raise money for local youth projects and organisations.
