In a letter to the chief executives of businesses regulated by the commission, policy director Andrew Le Brun explains that parts of the act, which came into force last year, apply to Islanders.
The act includes four main categories of offence – bribing another person (section 1); being bribed (section 2); bribing a foreign official (section 6); failing to prevent bribery (section 7).
The last category of offence applies to commercial organisations.
