Residents of Ollivier’s Farm at Ouiasné celebrated last year after apparently winning a long-fought battle against landlord Ben Ollivier’s plans to build permanent houses on the site.

The plans were rejected after Environment Minister Deputy Rob Duhamel ruled that the land fell within the boundaries created by the new Coastal National Park, passed during the States Island Plan debate in June.

But Mr Ollivier has lodged an appeal to the Royal Court against the decision. If the move is successful, the landlord will be allowed to build houses on the site, which is home to 19 residents.

Mark Winter (51), who has lived at the site which contains caravans and small chalets for six years, said that the residents were again concerned about their future.
