In September, the JEP revealed that the popular £45,000 art work, which depicts birds taking off, had been left neglected in a field on the north coast.

The story caused uproar, and Economic Development Minister Alan Maclean, who is responsible for the Airport, said that he would investigate.

Within days he said that the sculpture could be reinstalled on the Airport roundabout if someone came forward and paid the £9,000 needed.

Senator Maclean today released a statement saying that the company behind the Lakeside Manor Care Home development across the road had pledged the cash.
