Two fire engines were sent to the property after neighbours saw smoke pouring out of the ground-floor and first-floor windows.
Two teams of two firefighters then entered the house and extinguished the fire while searching for any occupants.
Although the owners were out, firefighters rescued a dog found in the living room of the property. The dog was given oxygen at the scene before being taken to a vet for further care.
