The Islanders took the lead through Chris Levesley’s strike on nine minutes. Their lead was then doubled later on through a well-driven Elliot Poole penalty. The Scots pulled a goal back before the break through Jason McGrath but Jersey headed into the interval on top and leading 2-1.

However, despite that excellent first-half display the performance was marred by an injury to striker Michael Veloso who was stretchered off with a suspected metatarsal injury.

The St Paul’s junior was taken to hospital and X-rays showed he had suffered a broken foot and is set to face at least six weeks on the side-lines.
