The Island side had been up against it after their opponents finished on 183 for six. Will Kaye’s aggressive bowling earned him one wicket for 20 runs from his eight-over spell, while Rob Duckett finished on two for 27.

Jersey found themselves in perilous trouble in reply at 114 for eight with 17 overs remaining. Will Robertson (24) had batted well and joined forces with Harry Jenkins (18) to put on 61 in 12 overs. But the devastating bowling of David Harris (six for 52), cousin of Jersey’s Will Harris, wreaked havoc and whittled the side down leaving them needing 70 to win.

After Will Giles (11) and Charlie Ellam (ten off 20 balls) contributed, Harry Jones provided invaluable support (16 not out) to Jenner who served up a match-winning 68 not out from 77 balls. Jones finished the match off with two fours to triumph with two wickets and seven balls to spare.
