Senior figures from the funds industry endorsed the Island’s approach earlier this month when they addressed a conference on the day before aspects of the new European directive came into force.
Jersey Finance organised the half-day conference on the Alternative Investment Funds Managers directive which looked at what the new European legislation will mean in practice for the funds sector.
The conference provided the industry and regulators with the first opportunity to debate the contents of the recently published AIFMD level II draft proposals, in which the detailed rules for the directive were outlined for the first time.
