In near perfect conditions, the 15-year-old completed the distance in 21 min 15 sec, ahead of 14-year-old Cameron Donaldson.

‘I knew exactly what I had to do to beat him,’ Henry said afterwards. ‘I sat at Cameron’s feet all the way and, with about 200 yards to go, took him.’

First in the women’s race was 14-year-old Ella Dias in 23.14, ahead of Cameron’s sister Rhianna (13).
