Nathan Wright came up with the idea to start a ‘Save Fiz’ campaign while he was lying in a hospital bed – and his appeal has already attracted more than 1,000 Facebook fans and well over 600 followers on Twitter.
Now the IT consultant and long-time Corrie fan has gone one step further by recruiting local musicians to record a charity single, which is being released on Monday.
It had its on-air debut this morning on Manchester station Key 103 – with the actress who plays Fiz, Jennie McAlpine, in the studio to hear its first play.
