The UK’s National Archive carries out an annual assessment of archives across the British Isles to measure how well they are performing against a national average.
Linda Romeril, the head of Archives and Collections, said: ‘Jersey Heritage is delighted that the Archive has reached the highest standard for the first time.
‘Our performance in the 2010 survey is testament to the high standards of collections care and access to the Island’s unique cultural heritage that the service provides.’
