The firm recently revealed plans to open a bar on the site of the disused Chicago Rock café on The Waterfront.
The plans, which have been temporarily withdrawn, included an application for a seventh category licence for extended opening hours. But the States police today revealed that they would object to any application for late-night opening.
And the Jersey Hospitality Association has warned that such a bar could have a significant impact on town pubs and stretch police resources to the limit.
