However the Team UK Youth 2011 cyclist says he is excited and looking forward to his first ‘town crit’ race especially with it being on his home roads.

The 23-year-old, who is riding in Jersey’s team along with Richard Tanguy, Nick Le Cocq and Chris Spence, said: ‘I’m looking forward to racing; it’s a very high standard race because a lot of riders are coming here as a result of a Premier Calendar event being cancelled.’

Spectators will see top class racing in town between 12 noon and just after 6 pm when the main international Elite/professional race finishes after starting at 5.15 pm.
