Former Housing Minister Senator Terry Le Main wants any replacement developments planned for sensitive locations – such as on the coast or in the green zone, where there is a presumption against development – to face a States debate.
He said this was in response to the ‘public uproar’ caused by Dandara’s new development at Portelet and to curtail future building on controversial sites.
The Senator made his comments in a report, proposing an amending to the draft Island Plan.
