Sanctuary House, run by the Caring Hands Christian charity, opened at the former Sabots d’Or guest house last Friday and is now fully occupied with 11 men aged between 19 and 66.
A further 20 men are on the refuge’s waiting list.
The launch marks the end of a difficult few months for the charity, which faced criticism from many St Aubin residents when it announced plans to open a refuge in the village.
