In one case, a motorist was arrested after being found more than 2½ times over the limit.
The warning comes just days after police launched a road safety campaign to crack down on speeding motorists.
As part of the campaign States and honorary officers will be carrying out regular speed checks and promoting awareness about the dangers of driving too fast.
