For the next three weeks, both States and honorary officers will be manning regular road checks and promoting awareness about the dangers of driving too fast.
The officer leading the campaign, Chief inspector John Sculthorp, said that the recent accidents had been caused by a whole series of factors, but stressed that speed was always an aggravating factor which led to increase injuries.
