Riders ready for global epic

Riding in teams of two, Robin Ovenden and Russell Crowder compete in the men’s section of the South African Absa Cape Epic race, while Tim Hubert joins forces with Ian Cabot in the Masters category.

The eight-day race, starting on 27 March, pushes competitors to the limit as they travel over 700 km of the Western Cape with a total of 14,550 metres of hill climbing.

For Commonwealth Games rider Ovenden, it is a natural step up the ladder of personal challenges, as he has completed not one, but four TransAlp events – a race billed as Europe’s toughest.
