Darren Parker (43), a horticulturist who played football for St John and in the volleyball league, fainted during the friendly match at St Michael’s School just before 8 pm and was taken to hospital. He fell into a coma but died later that evening.
Mr Parker, who was born in the north of England and lived in St Clement, had just returned from a trip to Australia.
