Both last year’s winners – Jersey’s Jo Gorrod and Guernsey’s Steve Dawes – will not be competing, but the men’s winner in 2008 and 2007, Harrow athlete Peter Norris, who placed third last year, will be hoping to regain the title.
He missed out on completing the hat-trick in 2009 when Dawes beat him to the finish line along with Jerseyman and former National Hunt jockey Paul Holley.
Around 350 people registered for last year’s event and organiser Mary McGrath is hoping that the number this year will be near that mark. Entries are still being accepted today from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Metropole Hotel for the race which starts from the FB Fields at 9 am.
