Parking charges to rise in bid to cut traffic

Transport Minister Mike Jackson said that if his department had not achieved the target of cutting traffic by 15 per cent in the rush hour over the next five years it would have failed.

Mr Jackson made the comments yesterday during an Environment Scrutiny panel meeting, chaired by Deputy Phil Rondel, on the Sustainable Transport Policy.
