Played at Eton College in Windsor, Millfield won through to the final of the competition for under-19s, featuring more than 45 teams of two pairs, having beaten five teams along the way.

In the final they took on the highly fancied Reeds School, from Surrey, who were top seeds with the inclusion of British number one at U16 Jon Cornish along with a highly ranked, 3.1 rated, 18-year-old.

Captaining the Millfield team 16-year-old Clayton and his partner, playing at number one, conquered the first seeds in a marathon match in which they had to save five match points along the way before capturing the win 11-9 in the deciding tiebreak.

The other pairing of Cohen and his partner also played extremely well and were able to come through another close match against the second pairing, both British ranked, to secure the overall victory.
