The national event was held on the famous Stickledown range and Alexandre shot exceptionally well to record a winning score of 53 with one v-bull. The solitary v-bull was decisive as it helped push Dorset’s Paul Wolpe into second place after he also scored 53 points but with no v-bull.

Recognised

Alexandre’s excellent result was recognised by John Whitacker, chairman of the British Long Range Rifles branch and the current world champion.

Whitacker said: ‘I’m really pleased for Mike because I know how much hard work he has put into this.’
