This year’s event was aiming to raise over £100,000 for three charities – Holidays for Heroes Jersey, Clic Sargent Jersey and the Glanville Home.

A total of 1,277 people limbered up for Saturday’s walk with 790 people completing the full 48.1 miles despite the poor weather that marked the start of the event.

The first walker crossed the finish line at the Waterfront at 11.30 am on Saturday after heading out from Elizabeth Quay at 3 am. The last person finished just before midnight.

Servicemen injured in combat joined the Island’s Lieutenant-Governor, Lieutenant-General Andrew Ridgway, and over 200 fellow walkers for his 13.3 mile walk from Le Braye to the Waterfront.
