- No disruption, but the situation is being monitored
JERSEY Airport management are continuing to monitor the movement of volcanic ash in British airspace, and say fears of disruption to flights tomorrow appear to be unfounded.
A spokesman said that they were checking the situation constantly and that should there be a problem, they would alert the public via their website www.jerseyairport.com.
He admitted that the Airport had received a number of calls, following reports that there would be disruption to flights in the south east of England from tomorrow until Tuesday.
But, he said that flights to and from the UK were currently operating normally and that it was not anticipated that there would be a problem tomorrow.
Fears of disruption follow a fresh eruption from the Mount Eyjafjallajokull volcano in Iceland. Since the eruption which caused disruption for nearly a week recently, passengers have been advised that there might be problems from time to time and to check with their airlines for the latest information.
