Senator Cohen said that having only two enforcement officers in the Planning Department was insufficient and that the officers were under considerable strain. He said that there was no money to pay for more enforcement officers even though they were urgently needed.

Senator Cohen made his comments during States question time yesterday after he was questioned by two politicians about how Planning makes developers stick to planning conditions specified on their permit.

St Helier Deputy Jackie Hilton said that a playground at Clos Vaze estate in St Helier had only just been finished, even though it was meant to be completed in November last year. She asked what lessons the minister had learned from the situation.
