Blood lifts British title

Before a packed audience at the Hotel de France, the Jersey Thai Boxing Club fighter took the 67-69 kilo title, at his second attempt, when the bout for the vacant title was stopped after the third of five three-minute rounds as a result of his opponent, Steve Young, suffering from two fractured ribs.

Billed as the Kings of the Ring night it was an excellent evening for the Jersey club as they lost just one bout out of eight.

The non-stop action continued with the top-of-the-bill bout between twice world champion Imran Khan and ex-Thai champion Ledtorranee, a bout won by the Thai after he twice dropped Khan to the floor in the fourth round.

JTBC trainer Rob Mitchell said: ‘What a fantastic night for Jersey; a British title and we were only beaten in one bout out of eight. I’m so pleased, we’ve taken on fighters from two of the best camps in the United Kingdom and we’ve come away with some excellent results.’
