Where in town do I park old Dobbin, then?

From Mike Pitman.
MR Le Plongeon’s letter (JEP, 29 January) suggests that the freeing up of residents’ parking zones during working hours doesn’t go nearly far enough.
The whole scheme should be abandoned immediately and these parking spaces should be restored for the use of all ratepayers and Islanders who have legitimate and pressing reasons to go to town.
The Constable needs reminding that St Helier is the commercial and business centre of this Island and that giving over great swathes of street parking to these privileged residents makes life very difficult for many people and must have an adverse effect on some town businesses.
Where is it written that one has the right to park outside one’s home? Dandara is charging £30,000-plus for such a privilege.
I am expecting delivery of a horse next week – I take it that I can expect to see a couple of parking spaces grassed over in Roseville Street where Dobbin can graze overnight … all at a very reasonable annual charge, of course?
