JWPA president Nat Snook explained that mini water polo sessions, which began earlier this month, had gone well but they are only the first of many initiatives for 2010 to take the club through a period of growth.

He said: ‘We needed to create a development plan for the club to give ourselves a fighting chance in the future so we put together a five year plan.

‘We used that to go to potential sponsors to help get funding in order to achieve it and luckily UBS stepped in so we were able to put junior sessions in place.

‘We had to think about what age we wanted to start it from and we thought that it would be easier to get children involved from a young age so that we could teach them the basics and let them carry on year by year and let the club grow with them.’
