In the race, which is considered to be one of the hardest amateur stage races, Spence was joined by Jerseyman Richard Tanguy, now based in the UK and riding for Pendragon-Kalas, who finished fourth and fellow Caesarean Cycling Club member Adam Wojtkiewicz who came 15th.
