The Jersey Cricket Board development side batted first with Peter Gough getting the team off to a solid start with 17 which, boosted by 23 from Ed Farley and 25 from Andy Dewhurst, put Jersey in a favourable position.

Backed up by Anthony Kay’s 37 Jersey finished on 147 which Italy set to chase down from the outset as opener Patrizi hit 54.

However, that was the highlight for the opposition whose run rate dropped throughout with great bowling from Andy Dewhurst, who finished with 4 for 12, helping to minimise Italy’s chances as they finished 17 runs short of victory.

Coach Craig Hogan said: ‘It was nice to win but the objective really was to see how we can play these games so this was a valuable exercise for both teams.’
