TELEVISION chef Marco Pierre White is this years celebrity Mr Battle.
The 47-year-old Hell’s Kitchen host will accompany Miss Battle, Lucy O’Sullivan, as she heads along Victoria Avenue next month in the big parade.
However, because of work commitments, Mr White will only be able to take part in the Battle of Flowers afternoon parade on Thursday 13 August and not the Moonlight Parade the following night.
The TV chef already has connections with the Island, as he is currently employed by Dandara as consultant and ambassador for their Castle Quay development, overseeing the restaurants. He will also be opening his own brand of pizza restaurant Frankie’s – which he set up with leading jockey Frankie Detori – at the Waterfront.
Mr White said: ‘I’m very honoured to be this year’s Mr Battle for the day parade. Jersey is a beautiful Island and I always get a warm welcome when I visit. It’s nice to be involved in this year’s celebrations.’
