MORE allegations of electoral fraud using the postal voting system are being investigated by the Attorney General.
A formal complaint has been made to the Law Officer’s Department about electoral fraud in St Helier No 1 district. A spokesman for the department confirmed that a complaint had been made and would be reviewed over the weekend.
He said: ‘The Law Officers have received notification of a complaint of a possible electoral malpractice and the Attorney General will be looking into it over the weekend.’
Although the complaint is being investigated, it is not clear what action could be taken given that the Deputies election takes place on Wednesday. The news follows yesterday’s announcement that police were investigating irregularities with postal votes in St Helier No 2.
