FOUR awards were presented at the Association of Jersey Architect’s Design Awards at the weekend.
Two highly commended certificates were awarded to the retirement home L’Hermitage Gardens, Beaumont, and Ivystill, and seven certificates of commendation were awarded to the Royal Yacht Hotel, the offices 11–12 Esplanade, the private home Skykomish, St Saviour, the private home Petit Ménage Stables, St Saviour, the private home La Maison de Fiefs, St Martin, Harbour Reach balconies and the Aviation Beauport canopy.
No awards were handed out for the landscape architecture category, because the two entrants were judged not to merit an award and the people’s choice award went to the private house Ormer Tides, St Clement. At the ceremony at the Royal Yacht on Friday night cultural development officer Rod McLoughlin, host and head of the judging panel, explained how the nine judges chose the winners from the 64 entries.
