Does the Treasury really care for OAPs?
Share this:
From D C Le Plongeon.
THE cost of living in Jersey has now got completely out of hand, with food prices increasing by 13% in the last 12 months and gas, electric and petrol prices going up by 25%.
Treasury Minister Terry Le Sueur declined to comment on the options and refused to discuss whether the States would consider removing the GST from food. Is this man living in cuckoo land when he does his shopping on a Saturday morning?
He is also not keen on the idea about an insurance scheme which will help to save elderly people from having to sell their homes when they need to go in care. When Senator Le Sueur’s time comes up and he has to go into a home or needs care, will he need to sell his home? I think not.
This man may be a Jerseyman, but with his large States salary and wealth, do you really think he cares about us old-age pensioners and the working class?
People like him we do not want as our next Chief Minister.
