A CHARITY group set up to help disadvantaged Islanders has increased its donations this year to £100,000.

The increase means that donations by the Bosdet Foundation, set up by the late George Bisson 19 years ago, have gone up by 100 per cent this year.

The extra cash comes from the profits of the Bosdet lodges at Les Ormes and will go towards helping people who need financial support in education, those who need urgent loans and community groups such as Help the Aged.

The general manager of the Bosdet Foundation, Mike Graham, said that he hoped the amount of donations would grow by £50,000 a year until the pot of cash reached £400,000 a year.

‘The £50,000 extra this year will make a massive difference and we are expecting that amount to be rising over the years,’ he said.
