At Blanche Pierre Lane, Tower produced an excellent display of football to defeat Guernsey champions St Martin’s by five goals to nil to become the first Channel Islands club to retain the silverware.

Tower’s success buried their cup hoodoo at home this season and they did it in style with further goals from captain Kerry Sauvage and substitute Lisa Corten.

Victorious Tower manager Geoff Van Der Vliet said: ‘The girls were magnificent; it’s the best I’ve seen them play for at least 12 months and in the second half they played some really good football.
